Manufacturing Production Associate
Location: Ambridge, Pennsylvania

PittMoss manufactures innovative, sustainable growing media made from recycled paper and cardboard. Our products help growers use less water, reduce reliance on peat moss, recycle valuable materials, and produce healthier, more resilient plants. Position Summary
The Manufacturing Production Associate supports all aspects of the manufacturing process, including raw material preparation, equipment operation, quality control, packaging, warehouse organization, and shipping. This position works closely with the Production Manager and other team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
Primary Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Production
- Assist with the setup and operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare production lines for daily operation.
- Process raw materials and measure ingredients according to production specifications.
- Load raw materials into production equipment.
- Monitor equipment during operation to ensure product quality and efficient production.
- Assist with routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance.
Packaging & Shipping
- Package, label, and palletize finished products.
- Prepare finished goods for shipment.
- Store raw materials and finished products in an organized warehouse environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
Quality & Safety
- Follow all production procedures and quality standards.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing facility.
- Inspect products throughout production to help ensure quality and consistency.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Follow production schedules and work instructions.
- Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.
- Assist with other production tasks as business needs require.
- Participate in cross-training across multiple production processes as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications
Preferred, but not required:
- Previous manufacturing or production experience.
- General labor or warehouse experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Experience operating manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Forklift experience.
- Current forklift certification (preferred but not required).
- Understanding of manufacturing safety practices.

No prior manufacturing experience is required. We are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry medium to heavy materials throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including warm temperatures during summer months.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Schedule
- Typical shift: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Occasional overtime may be required, including extended shifts to complete production or load outbound trucks.
- Full-time positions are available immediately.
- Part-time and occasional evening shifts may also be available depending on production needs.
