Cost Estimator

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Hybrid | Minimum of 3 days in-office).

Full time Position.

Summary:

• Becker & Frondorf is an independent cost estimating firm seeking a Conceptual Cost Estimator to join our estimating team. The candidate will be responsible for developing conceptual and detailed cost estimates for a variety of projects across all phases of design. This position requires a strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and current market trends.
• The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed construction document cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all CSI construction divisions, including sitework, structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
• Analyze drawings, narratives, and specifications to determine project scope, assumptions, and cost risks.
• Provide estimate revisions, value engineering options, and cost-savings alternatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of architecture or and/or building system experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with cost estimating software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, client-focused, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Togal.AI takeoff software.
• Experience with independent cost estimating.
• Professional certifications (ASPE, LEED, AIA, etc.).
