The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a well-established behavioral health facility in Philadelphia providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our behavioral health nursing team. This part-time position is ideal for a nurse looking to work double shifts every other weekend , providing care to adults living with psychiatric conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.

• Provide direct nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting

• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness or adverse reactions

• Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

• Participate in crisis intervention and apply de-escalation strategies

• Supervise and support Mental Health Workers during assigned shifts

• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and medication

• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and behavioral health professionals

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety procedures

Education & Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program

• Active LPN license in Pennsylvania (Required)

Experience

• At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred

• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use experience strongly preferred

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment is a plus

Certifications

• Current CPR certification (Required)

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred

• Ability to remain calm and responsive during behavioral health emergencies
