A well-established Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the Germantown section of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven nursing leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and providing exceptional resident-centered care.

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of the nursing department. The DON works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all nursing operations within the facility

• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and resident-centered care

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain nursing staff

• Supervise Unit Managers, RN Supervisors, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants

• Monitor staffing levels and support scheduling to ensure quality care

• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

• Prepare for and participate in state and federal surveys

• Review clinical documentation, care plans, and quality indicators

• Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members

• Oversee infection prevention, risk management, and clinical education programs

• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff

Director of Nursing (DON) Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting

• Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing preferred

• Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, and long-term care standards

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Experience with electronic medical records (PointClickCare experience preferred)

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and improve clinical outcomes
