A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KENNEL ATTENDANT

In this part-time animal care role, you play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and enriching environment for the dogs in our care. Each day, you arrive prepared and focused, ready to provide structured enrichment activities that keep our guests mentally engaged and physically active. You are responsible for feeding dogs, thoroughly sanitizing dog rooms, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness to our high standards.

You are attentive, observant, and proactive - always prioritizing safety, comfort, and the well-being of each dog. Whether you are walking a guest or communicating with a pet parent, you are warm, professional, and kind. Our clients trust us with their family members, and you help ensure that trust is earned every single day.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A KENNEL ATTENDANT
  • Dog handling experience preferred

  • Ability to safely work with dogs of all sizes and breeds

  • Dependable, patient, and caring

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Positive, open-minded, can-do attitude

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the pet care industry

WORK SCHEDULE

This part-time position requires availability every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) , select holidays, and flexibility across shifts. Our primary shifts are 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM .

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Team members must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, sit, bend, twist, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds . Clear vision, hearing, and communication skills are required.

Safely handling dogs of all sizes - including dogs that may pull or jump - is an essential part of this role. Playful Pups Retreat prioritizes safety, and all team members are expected to follow established policies and procedures at all times.
