Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Radiation Therapist
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Radiation Oncology Department
• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Southeast Iowa)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2500-$2560
• Weekend/Call: No call required; occasional overtime based on patient volume
• Equipment Used: Varian TrueBeam, Identify, GE CT Scanner
• Patient Ratio: 15-24 patients per day (average)

Radiation Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
• Current ARRT certification as a Radiation Therapist
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam and GE CT Scanner preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Required: Resume, self-assessment, and skills checklist upon application

Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric oncology patients as prescribed by physicians
• Operate and maintain advanced radiation therapy equipment, including Varian TrueBeam and GE CT Scanner
• Assist with CT simulation, chart checks, and treatment planning
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and physics staff (physics coverage 3 days/week)
• Ensure accurate documentation and strict compliance with radiation safety protocols
• Deliver compassionate patient care and support throughout the treatment process
