Could you be the full-time hybrid Senior Project Planner in Pittsburgh, PA, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project planning and scheduling expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by developing and optimizing schedules that meet contractual requirements, align stakeholder commitments, and drive on-time delivery. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as supply chain, engineering, and project management), organize and lead regular project schedule review sessions, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to project timelines, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing quality schedules in accordance with the company's procedures, contractual requirements, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Optimizing schedules considering multiple criteria such as on-time delivery, cash generation, penalty avoidance, and efficient utilization of available resources.
  • Ensuring validation of the baseline schedule.
  • Developing a Project Time Management Plan.
  • Organizing and lead regular project schedule review sessions, challenging stakeholders' assumptions about time performance.
  • Aligning the commitments of internal and external stakeholders, manage schedule interfaces, and proactively address inconsistencies.
  • Ensuring on-time updates of both internal and external schedules, monitoring stakeholders' adherence to schedule quality standards.
  • Identifying critical paths and both actual and potential delays in complex, interlinked schedules.
  • Guiding the project team in identifying and mitigating risks and in seizing opportunities related to on-time delivery.
  • Leading the preparation of schedule and progress reports, illustrating progress with relevant KPIs and the Earned Value Methodology.
  • Supporting the Contract Manager in protecting the company's rights in time-related disputes and perform delay analysis.
  • Providing support to teams on schedule-related issues.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Engineering or Business Degree - Planning Certification, desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in full time planning and scheduling role with Primavera P6 tool.
  • Industrial or construction background.
  • Detailed knowledge of scheduling theory and methods, such as EVM.
  • Proficiency in one scheduling tool (OdyC, Primavera, etc.) and familiarity with an additional scheduling software tool (Kinaxis, MS Project, TILOS).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel or other data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of time-related contractual obligations and principles of delay analysis.
  • Basic comprehension of railway industry products and technologies - desired.
  • Curiosity, the drive to learn, and the readiness to share knowledge with others.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; an effective team player.
  • Ability to challenge and guide teams and be proactive in proposing solutions.
  • Adaptability in a multi-cultural and rapidly changing environment.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge scheduling tools and methodologies to optimize project execution timelines,
  • Progress towards becoming a trusted expert in project planning and execution within a dynamic, multicultural environment,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning,
  • Utilise our supportive and innovative working environment,
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
