Training Outstanding benefits package (Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, plus much more!) 401(k) with match Competitive wages Company laptop Paid time off 10 paid holidaysWe are seeking a technically skilled Deployment Engineer whose role will be to support the installation/implementations of our Warehouse Management Software (WMS) with experience in SQL Server, RS232 serial devices, and TCP/IP networking. This role involves on-site installation, integration, and troubleshooting of systems at customer locations, supporting internal software validation through hardware emulation, and providing hands-on technical support during the initial go-live stages of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain software and databases (SQL Server) at customer sites. Connect, configure, and troubleshoot RS232 serial devices (e.g., sensors, controllers, industrial equipment). Integrate and test TCP/IP devices on customer networks, ensuring proper communication and data flow. Collaborate with customer IT teams to ensure secure and stable network configurations. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field. Assist in the emulation of hardware devices to support in-house validation of software features. Provide technical support to clients during the initial go-live stages of projects, ensuring smooth deployment and issue resolution. Document installation procedures, configurations at each site, and service activities. Provide technical training and support for end users and customer staff. Maintain compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements. Travel to customer locations as needed, sometimes with short notice. Provide Hyper-Care Level Support to recent installsQualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field. Hands-on experience with SQL Server (installation, configuration, basic query writing). Familiarity with RS232 protocols and serial communication troubleshooting. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, routing, and firewall basics. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel (up to 60%) and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.Preferred Skills:
Experience with industrial automation or SCADA systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, traceroute, Putty). Basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Experience with hardware simulation/emulation tools or environments. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in industrial or commercial environments.About Alta:
