About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Compounding Pharmacist to join a fast-growing, patient-centric compounding pharmacy supporting a large, multi-state healthcare platform. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with deep expertise in non-sterile and/or sterile compounding, strong regulatory judgment, and a commitment to quality, safety, and precision.

The Senior Compounding Pharmacist will play a key role in overseeing formulation accuracy, compliance, workflow optimization, and technician supervision while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee sterile and/or non-sterile compounding in accordance with USP <795> , <797> , and <800>
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance
• Supervise and train compounding technicians
• Ensure adherence to state board of pharmacy regulations and internal SOPs
• Maintain compounding documentation, batch records, and quality logs
• Collaborate with clinical, operations, and quality teams to improve workflows
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Stay current on compounding best practices, regulatory updates, and formulation science

Requirements

Required

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
• Active pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific)
• 5+ years of compounding pharmacy experience
• Strong working knowledge of USP <795> , <797> , and <800>
• Experience supervising or mentoring technicians

Preferred

• Experience in high-volume compounding environments
• Familiarity with hormone therapy, dermatologic, or specialty compounds
• Board Certification in Compounding Pharmacy (BCNP) a plus
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and batch compounding
