About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Compounding Pharmacist to join a fast-growing, patient-centric compounding pharmacy supporting a large, multi-state healthcare platform. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with deep expertise in non-sterile compounding, strong regulatory judgment, and a commitment to quality, safety, and precision.
The Senior Compounding Pharmacist will play a key role in overseeing formulation accuracy, compliance, workflow optimization, and technician supervision while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
This role is based in Lancaster, PA. Candidates open to relocation are encouraged to apply — relocation assistance is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee non-sterile compounding in accordance with USP <795> and <800>
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance
- Supervise and train compounding technicians
- Run and maintain compounding equipment
- Ensure adherence to state board of pharmacy regulations and internal SOPs
- Assist in writing and revising SOPs
- Maintain compounding documentation, batch records, and quality logs
- Collaborate with clinical, operations, and quality teams to improve workflows
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current on compounding best practices, regulatory updates, and formulation science
Requirements
Required
- PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- Active pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific)
- 5+ years of compounding pharmacy experience
- Strong working knowledge of USP <795> and <800>
- Experience supervising or mentoring technicians
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and batch compounding
Preferred
- Experience in high-volume compounding environments
- Familiarity with hormone therapy, dermatologic, or specialty compounds
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and batch compounding
