Diesel Field Technician - Yard Truck Mechanic

We are seeking a Field Service Technician with diesel mechanic experience to join our team for immediate hire to provide terminal tractor service in the greater Harrisburg and York areas . This position will require a candidate who can work with limited supervision and has the ability to think and operate independently as well as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect engines to diagnose technical problems.
• Determine required and appropriate repairs.
• Maneuver and comfortably manage heavy equipment.
• Maintain equipment service records.
• Lift parts and equipment with hoists or hydraulic jacks.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other vehicle components.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and refilling lubricants.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment and parts.
• Test drive vehicles after repair to guarantee proper performance and compliance with the manufacturer's specifications.
• Prior mechanical and technical experience on large mobile equipment preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working as a diesel mechanic or diesel technician with heavy equipment or tractor trailers.
• Experience with air, electric, hydraulic, and braking systems.
• Experience with Cummins and Caterpillar engines.
• Experience with Allison transmissions.
• Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, and Allison DOC a plus.
• Must have own tools. Training provided.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, and background check.
