ShelfGenie designs, builds, and installs premium, custom-designed pull-out shelving and organization systems for existing cabinets, pantries, and closets. We transform chaotic, hard-to-reach spaces into beautiful, functional areas. We are looking for the right person to train to be a skilled professional organizer to partner with us to deliver an elite, end-to-end transformation experience for our clients.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly communicative Independent Contractor to assist our clients with purging, decluttering, and post-installation staging.

In this role, you will help clients organize their belongings before our custom solutions are installed and return post-installation to stage the new space beautifully. Additionally, as you help clients declutter other areas of their home, you will act as a brand ambassador, introducing ShelfGenie’s custom storage solutions for their remaining organizational needs.

Comprehensive training on the proprietary ShelfGenie organizational method and product line will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Develop ongoing working relationships with customers to create recurring organization appointments and to gather referrals for potential new customers.
• Client Decluttering: Guide clients through purging and sorting items in kitchens, pantries, and closets prior to our shelving installation.
• Follow Prescribed Methods: Strictly follow the established ShelfGenie step-by-step organization, categorization, and staging methods.
• Post-Install Staging: Return to the client's home after shelf installation to organize items beautifully using uniform containers, labels, and optimized placement.
• Brand Ambassadorship: Identify pain points in other areas of the client’s home and introduce ShelfGenie solutions to help solve them.
• Clear Communication: Maintain exceptional, empathetic communication with clients and provide timely updates to the ShelfGenie management team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Organized Mindset: We will train you how to help clients organize their homes and being naturally organized in your own life is very important to be successful in this role.
• Exceptional Communication: Strong active listening skills and the ability to coach clients through the emotional process of letting go of clutter.
• Process-Driven: Proven ability to follow a prescribed, systematic method for organizing spaces rather than just relying on personal style.
• Sales-Minded Comfort: Comfortable discussing high-end home solutions and identifying opportunities to introduce ShelfGenie products.
• Business Basics: Must carry (or be willing to obtain prior to starting) a basic independent contractor General Liability Insurance policy (we can point you toward quick, affordable options that cost around $30/month).
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to accept part-time, project-based jobs that fit around client availability (days, weekends, or evenings).
• Reliable Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle to travel to client homes.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods while organizing.
