The Product Support Specialist at VAL-CO Industries is a pivotal individual contributor responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and training to both internal and external customers. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical principles to effectively communicate and align customers' experiences with our business goals and core values. You will assist customers in resolving product quality and application issues while identifying root causes of challenges and facilitating effective resolutions. Engaging in field support, you'll oversee product installation, project management, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will provide comprehensive product information and training, contribute to collaborative technical solutions, and maintain documentation of product and customer interactions.

To excel as a Technical Support Specialist at VAL-CO Industries, candidates must possess a combination of mechanical expertise and interpersonal skills. A two-year technical degree in Mechanics or Electronics is essential, along with at least three years of relevant field experience with mechanical and electrical systems. Multi-lingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are required to communicate with customers .

Exceptional written and oral communication skills are crucial for delivering presentations effectively in both small and large group settings. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings is necessary to analyze technical issues accurately. Additionally, candidates must be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Physical requirements include the ability to travel, sit for extended periods, and perform various tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating uneven surfaces. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is also a key component for success in this role, ensuring that candidates can effectively manage documentation and correspond with teams and customers.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Two-year technical degree in Mechanics or Electronic Technician programs or 3+ years of relevant field experience with mechanical and electrical systems
• Bilingual-Spanish
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics/engineering drawings
• Ability to work analytically with variables true and perceived
• Ability to travel overnight to customer locations including international locations
• Must be self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
• Sit for extended periods of time (driving, plane, desk) up to 8 hours/day
• Walking - Distance 2 miles/day
• Walk on uneven surfaces or around obstacles (e.g., animals, equipment)
• Stand for extended periods (e.g. 6 hours or more)
• Lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor
• Carry items while walking
• Bend, squat, or kneel
• Transition from kneeling to standing
• Twist or rotate body (e.g. to reach tools or equipment)
• Rotate while walking or bending
• Use hand tools and perform detailed tasks
• Work on the ground or in tight spaces (e.g. under equipment)
• Proficiency with computer software applications including Microsoft Office
• Demonstrate general conduct consistent with good character and reflective of the VAL-CO published core values
