Revenue Cycle Manager

Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle process from patient intake and insurance verification through billing, collections, and reimbursement. This role ensures that all revenue cycle activities are optimized to enhance cash flow, reduce bad debt , and improve the patient or customer financial experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in financial operations within a healthcare or similar revenue-driven environment.

Essential Functions

• Lead and manage all functions of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, charge capture, accounts receivable, collections, payment posting, and denial management.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the revenue cycle process, reduce denials, and maximize reimbursements.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in AR, clean claim rate, denial rate, and collection percentages.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical, IT, finance, compliance) to ensure accurate and timely billing.

• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies.

• Manage a team of revenue cycle specialists; provide training, performance reviews, and mentorship.

• Analyze financial data and prepare regular reports for senior leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

• Oversee payer contract management and negotiate terms to optimize reimbursement.

• Utilize revenue cycle management software and tools to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.

• Perform other operational responsibilities that may be assigned.

• Work effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.

Supervisory Functions

• Must demonstrate proficient ability to effectively manage revenue cycle management personne l through personal demonstration of dedication, commitment to excellence, and teamwork.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to assigned staff to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with company goals.

• Oversee daily activities, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure quality standards and productivity goals are met.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education, Certificate and Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree

• No professional certificate or licensure , although preferred.
