Hospital Pharmacy Services Director

This highly recognized acute care medical center is seeking a Hospital Pharmacy Services Director for an exceptional opportunity to lead a dynamic inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy team 💊. The Hospital Pharmacy Services Director will join a Joint Commission–accredited, teaching-focused organization with approximately 200+ beds and will contribute to a culture recognized for patient safety, quality outcomes, and interprofessional collaboration across inpatient, infusion, and ambulatory settings.

The Director will partner closely with medical staff leadership, nursing executives, quality and safety, infection prevention, supply chain, finance, and IT to advance medication safety, stewardship, and clinical excellence. The role will oversee a 24/7 pharmacy that supports medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, perioperative, oncology, and ambulatory infusion services. Additionally, the position will lead clinical programs including medication therapy management, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation safety, pain and sedation optimization, and provider education, while mentoring staff and reinforcing competencies and evidence-based practice. Administratively, the Hospital Pharmacy Services Director will manage budgets, staffing models, performance metrics, P&T and formulary management, medication safety initiatives, regulatory readiness (DEA, Board of Pharmacy, USP, Joint Commission), and technology optimization (CPOE, BCMA, ADCs, IV workflow). The Director may cover pharmacist shifts and on-call as needed. Candidates earning quick interviews are licensed in Pennsylvania and have progressive leadership experience.
