Fleet Mechanic

Sigma Continental is a Contracted Service Provider for FedEx Ground out of the Pittsburgh North terminal in Zelienople, Pa. Our mission is to provide timely, courteous, and professional experiences to our team and customers alike.

We are searching for a part-time fleet mechanic to join our team. Our team maintains safety as a priority, has a service-oriented attitude, is reliable and organized, possesses effective time management skills while complying with safety rules and policies. Available Shifts (2-3 shifts Per Week Minimum)

• Sunday: 5am - 10am
• Monday:  5am - 10am
• Tuesday: 5am - 10am
• Wednesday: 5am - 10am
• Thursday: 5am - 10am
• Friday: 5am - 10am

* Up to 40 Hours Available:  Ability to start as early as 5am and work until 10am, then option to start at 4pm and work until 9pm.

Must have basic mechanic knowledge of the following vehicles

• Ford E-450 (Gas-Engine) Step Vans
• Ford Transits
• GMC Sierra Cargo Vans
• Dodge Promaster Vans

Core Responsibilities

• Perform weekly preventative maintenance inspection
• Oil Changes
• Spark Plug Changes
• Brakes (Pads, rotors, calipers, etc.)
• Ball Joints
• Wheel Bearings
• DOT Inspection Related Items

General Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check. (All applicants must be clear of any prior drug/alcohol/criminal offenses on their records)
• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card.
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past year.

Position-Specific Requirements:

• Understand drive train, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems to diagnose and repair company vehicles
• Perform routine daily repairs and preventative maintenance/inspections on fleet vehicles
• Conduct safety checks on all fleet vehicles
• 1+ year(s) experience as a mechanic
• Pass all clearances (child abuse, fingerprint, criminal background check) and pre-employment/random drug and alcohol screenings)
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with established safety procedures
• Have availability for call in while delivery trucks are out and in case of emergency breakdowns
• Fill in as a driver or jumper as necessary (Optional). We have driving shifts available 7 days a week.

The preferred candidate will have:

• Trade school certification or
• 2+ years experience as a mechanic

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week

• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekends as needed
