Lead Estimator, Mechanical Systems

Responsibilities include leading our estimation and proposal team, custom engineering systems, project coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects on time and on budget, while remaining aligned with corporate strategy, commitments, and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Leading our estimation and proposal team.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Physical Requirements:
- Safely and effectively lift, carry, and move objects of varying weights.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking, for extended periods and maintain the necessary physical dexterity and coordination.
- Work in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, weather, and noise levels
Skills
- Five (5) + years of experience within the estimation, bidding, proposal process of mechanical systems.
- Preferred experience in (3) Three of the following areas: Heavy Equipment, Processing equipment, pumps, hydraulics, machinery, manufacturing, pharma equipment, and/or automated equipment.
- Possess a P.E., and/or Project management qualification (PMP) (CPM) or equivalent years of experience preferred, not required.
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Systems Engineer and/or Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, or Project Manager.
- Must have at least (2) two of the following technical Skills: ERP systems, Scada, PLC’s, AutoCAD SketchUp, MRP, CRM, MS Office, MS Excel, Google doc’s.
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Project management and supervision skills
- Decision making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
- BS degree in Engineering or relevant field
