Qualifications – MRI Technologist Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required); Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board), or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists)
• ARRT-MR credential required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and weekends as scheduled
• Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and delivering high-quality healthcare

Responsibilities – MRI Technologist Job Duties

• Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures as prescribed by licensed healthcare practitioners
• Verify imaging orders, ensure accurate patient identification and preparation, and document clinical history
• Apply appropriate MRI imaging protocols and optimize technical factors to maximize patient safety and image quality
• Prepare and administer medications as required, following hospital and regulatory guidelines
• Evaluate MRI images for proper positioning, technical quality, and ensure secure archival and data transfer
• Implement MRI safety protocols to minimize risk for patients, staff, and self
• Assist physicians with MRI-guided interventional procedures as needed
• Educate and supervise students and other healthcare professionals in MRI best practices
• Participate in quality improvement and process enhancement initiatives within the imaging department
