Position Name: Heavy Civil Estimator

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction, preferably with prior airport project experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of estimating processes, including earthwork, utilities, paving, and other infrastructure projects. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop accurate cost estimates for competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and asphalt paving
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to obtain competitive pricing and project data
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to align with project needs
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and leadership to ensure estimates align with company goals and strategies
• Incorporate knowledge of local construction practices and regulations, particularly within Pennsylvania
• Provide value engineering solutions and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Develop and maintain historical cost data for future estimating processes
• Prepare bid proposals and present findings to senior management

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
• Prior experience with airport projects is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, processes, and materials for heavy civil projects
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as HCSS, Bid2Win, or similar programs
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania construction regulations and requirements
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required)
