Change Manager
Job Description
*20 hours/week -- either 2.5 full-days or 5 half-days
Our large pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA is looking for a Change Manager to lead change management strategy and execution for the upcoming Benchling Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) implementation, supporting a fundamental shift in how scientists work and how the organization treats scientific data. This role will partner closely with program and project leads, Benchling SMEs, and scientific stakeholders to drive adoption, address concerns, and embed new behaviors-positioning data as a strategic resource, not merely a means to an end.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced change practitioner who can translate complex process/technology change into clear communications, practical enablement, and measurable adoption across a population of several hundred users (with potential to expand further).
Key Responsibilities:
-Change strategy & planning including adoption goals, success metrics, and reporting approach (e.g., readiness, engagement, training completion, active usage, sentiment, issue themes).
-Partner with scientific SMEs and Benchling SMEs to translate solution/process details into user-friendly guidance; quickly learn enough domain context to communicate effectively across varied expertise levels.
-Support go-live and post-go-live adoption: establish support channels, escalation paths, reinforcement campaigns, demonstrate quick wins, and track adoption barriers.
-Communications & Engagement - address the "fear factor" common in digital transformations by proactively identifying pain points and building trust through transparent communication and stakeholder partnership.
-Data Mindset Transformation - Partner with leadership and functional owners to embed new expectations and behaviors into daily workflows, team norms, and leadership messaging.

Skills and Requirements
-Demonstrated experience building change strategies, stakeholder plans, communications, and adoption reinforcement for digital change.
-Formal change management training/certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP, Kotter, or equivalent structured education/training).
-Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels-from individual contributors to executive sponsors.
-Strong communication skills (written, verbal, facilitation) with the ability to translate complex change into clear, compelling messaging.
-Comfortable operating as both project lead for change workstreams and a strategic advisor/SME to project leadership. -Prior experience with ELN implementations and/or Benchling (strong plus).
-Experience supporting scientific, R&D, lab, or regulated environments; ability to partner with scientists (scientific background helpful but not required).
-Experience with data transformation initiatives (data lifecycle, governance, data quality, digital lab workflows) and driving behavioral change tied to data capture/use.
-Experience supporting rollouts impacting hundreds of users across varied personas and workflows.
