Description Of Work

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing team provides 24-hour care, seven days per week, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional supervisor. As a Nurse Aide, you will deliver person-centered support by following individualized care plans, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with personal hygiene. This includes bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect. You will also perform daily tasks such as nutritional support and linen service while maintaining a safe, sterile environment through strict adherence to infection control protocols.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment (8 hours per day; 40 hours per week)
• Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM (2nd shift), rotating weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will be required to work every other weekend.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,294.00 (before taxes).
• DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania's veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
• This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
