Precision Metals Manufacturing
We're recruiting for an experienced Materials Manager to join a leading precision metals manufacturer in Allentown, PA.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead purchasing, planning, inventory, warehousing and logistics while driving supply chain performance across a high-volume manufacturing operation.
What You'll Do
- Lead purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, shipping and receiving
- Manage MRP planning to support production schedules and customer demand
- Optimize inventory using VMI, FIFO and inventory management best practices
- Reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB)
- Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts and delivery performance
- Monitor supplier quality, cost and on-time delivery
- Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts and year-end physical inventory
- Manage ERP transactions, barcoding and material traceability
- Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and develop buyers, planners and warehouse teams
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration
- 5+ years' Materials Management or Supply Chain Management experience within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of MRP, ERP and inventory management systems
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, VMI and continuous improvement
- Proven leadership experience managing supply chain or warehouse teams
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
