Staff Accountant (Payroll Experience)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general accounting principles, proficiency in financial reporting, and a background in payroll responsibilities. Knowledge of job costing concepts is a significant plus, especially for those coming from project-based or service-oriented industries.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP).
- Collaborate with project managers and operational staff on financial tracking and reporting.
- (Bonus) Utilize job costing knowledge to allocate costs accurately across projects or departments.
- Support external audit and tax preparation activities.
