A vacancy exists for a Family & Community Partnerships Supervisor to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit . The Family & Community Partnerships Supervisor coordinates the effective implementation of the Family and Community Partnership Service Areas of the Head Start program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study required.
Provide own transportation and able to work flexible hours.
Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
Knowledge of community resources.
Demonstrated supervisory and training skills.
Ability to work with and relate to young children and families with diverse backgrounds.
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate the recruitment of children.
In conjunction with Health/Nutrition Specialist, make immediate, appropriate referrals to Disabilities/Transition Specialist.
Attend parent meetings and make home visits as needed in order to provide services and information to Head Start families.
Work closely with all service areas of the program.
Maintain confidentiality.
Keep appropriate case records of families and children in the program.
Completed Head Start Enrollment form.
Referral and follow-up documentation.
Notation of contacts with other resource agencies.
Notations of contacts with families, purpose of visits and by whom, and results of contact including action taken.
Maintain working relationship with agencies within the community.
Refer families to other child care services when necessary.
Assist with the preparation and distribution of a community resource file for Head Start families and staff.
Attend Center Parent meetings, Assist with training for center officers, & maintain accurate records of Parent Center meetings.
Assist with total parent training program in conjunction with other service area staff.
Develop programs and enlist parents in special training opportunities according to their express needs using community resources.
Comply with Family and Community Partnerships Performance Standards.
Attend all staff meetings and related in-service training sessions.
Follow up on all children's attendance problems.
Encourage parents to serve as volunteers in the program.
Responsible for the monthly statistical report of service area activities.
Participate in career development when feasible.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Assistant Program Administrator/Family Services or the Program Administrator/Head Start.
Knowledge of computer systems.
Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Head Start program has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. Vacancy location will be determined during the interview process. More information on the Head Start program and locations can be found at This position will be at the Learning Academy (1605 W. Main St. Norristown, PA) but may require some travel.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260-262 days/year)
Salary:
- $55,335/year - $65,100/year (SA3)
