IMMEDIATE HIRING – FULL-TIME HOME CAREGIVER

Location: Big Bass Lake Community, Gouldsboro, PA
Pay Rate: $14.00

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week
• Consistent, full-time weekday position

October Home Care is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dependable caregiver for a medically complex client requiring consistent, structured, and attentive care. This is an immediate hire, and we are looking for candidates who are ready to begin work promptly with all required onboarding documents.

Client Overview

The client has multiple chronic medical conditions and requires hands-on assistance, supervision, and careful monitoring throughout the shift.

Diagnoses include:

• Dementia (Stage 5) – requires supervision, redirection, and memory support
• Kidney failure
• Diabetes
• Hypertension

The caregiver must be patient, attentive, and capable of managing both cognitive and physical care needs.

Important: The household has four Golden Doodles. The caregiver must be comfortable working in a home with dogs and be pet-friendly at all times.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide full supervision to ensure client safety at all times
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
• Personal hygiene and grooming
• Dressing and mobility assistance
• Toileting support as needed
• Provide cognitive support related to dementia, including:
• Redirection and reorientation
• Maintaining a structured daily routine
• Monitoring for confusion, agitation, or behavioral changes
• Assist with meal preparation following dietary needs (diabetic-friendly, kidney-conscious meals if instructed)
• Provide medication reminders and observe for compliance (no administration unless authorized)
• Monitor and report symptoms such as:
• Blood sugar fluctuations
• Blood pressure concerns
• Signs of fatigue, confusion, or decline
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Accurately document care and report any changes to the agency
• Follow all care plans, physician instructions, and agency policies

Requirements

• Prior home care or caregiving experience required
• Experience with dementia care strongly preferred
• Ability to handle medically complex cases
• Must be patient, reliable, and professional
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Must be comfortable working around multiple dogs
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation
