Zoning/Planning Officer
The Zoning/Planning Officer supports Township operations by ensuring compliance with all ordinances, codes and regulations in planning, zoning, and permit issuance. Inspection of construction projects to include subdivision and land development, building improvements, floodplain development and stormwater management projects. Responsible for supervising independent inspection and sewage contractors as well as the Permit Clerk, Assistant Zoning Officer, and Code Enforcement Officer.
Successful applicants must have a minimum of three years’ experience, in municipal planning/zoning or building/site development with 2 years’ experience in supervision. A Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of municipal subdivision/land development and zoning ordinances, building, and plumbing ordinances, preferred. The ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints as well as the ability to research applicable codes and regulations is required. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License. A Building Code Certification is also required. MS Office, Word, and Excel proficiency is required as well as experience in industry database software. This position entails 2 - 3 evening meetings per month.
