RM Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Our products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.
Summary
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks to support the financial operations of R.M. Palmer Company. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, maintaining financial records, and assisting with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable for vendors.
- Process vendor invoices from receipt through payment, including check runs.
- Perform general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal auditing.
- Verify that all coding and account distributions are accurate.
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for all financial records.
- Utilize JD Edwards ERP system for accounting processes and reporting.
- Support the Controller with additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing sector preferred.
- Experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
