JOB SUMMARY
The Inspection Supervisor supports the Quality Manager in overseeing quality-related activities for incoming parts, in-process work, and finished goods. This role ensures that all metal finishing meets customer specifications and quality standards. The position includes hands-on quality responsibilities and direct supervision of team members involved in quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality & Delivery Performance
Guide the team to consistently meet customer expectations on quality and on-time delivery by achieving 100% of on-time delivery by maximizing efficiencies.
Promote first-pass quality and prevent shipment of incomplete or non-spec parts.
Ensure that all products meet quality standards, including customer specifications, internal procedures, and industry requirements (ISO 9001, NADCAP).
Act as hands-on support while carrying out Supervisory duties. This includes performing inspection, testing, and masking as required.
2.Daily Operations & Workflow
Lead the team to meet daily production and quality goals.
Coordinate and schedule work for the team based on parts received and production priorities (in collaboration with the Quality Manager).
Recommend adjustments to work schedules to ensure the timely completion of jobs.
3. Testing & Certification
Schedule, perform, and document all required testing on incoming and in-process parts (where applicable).
Generate certifications and relay test results to the Quality Manager accurately and promptly.
4.Equipment & Safety Oversight
Ensure proper maintenance and testing of inspection equipment.
Recommend improvements to equipment or processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
5.Team Leadership & Development
Lead, supervise, and support the quality team, ensuring clear communication of roles and performance expectations.
Ensure proper training and performance evaluations are complete.
Manage team scheduling and minimize overtime unless otherwise approved.
Participate in staffing decisions, including hiring, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
Promote adherence to company policies, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
6.Cross-Departmental Coordination
Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve interdepartmental communication and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year or more of leadership experience.
- Quality inspection experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal finishing environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Knowledge of different metal materials and their characteristics.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A basic knowledge of chemistry is preferred but not required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and compliance auditors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
