Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will oversee all aspects of lease accounting and reporting in compliance with ASC 842. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support, while serving as the subject-matter expert for operating and finance leases across the organization.

Essential Job Duties

· Own end-to-end lease accounting under ASC 842, including:

o Initial lease recognition

o Lease modifications, remeasurements, and terminations

o Right-of-use (ROU) asset and lease liability calculations

· Maintain and administer the lease accounting system, LeaseQuery

· Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll forwards related to leases

· Ensure accurate classification of operating vs. finance leases

· Partner with other departments to review new lease agreements and identify accounting impacts and ensure proper setup

· Support month-end and year-end close

· Serve as point of contact for external auditors for lease-related inquiries

· Identify opportunities to improve lease accounting processes, documentation, and controls

· Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management.

· Assume other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

· 5+ years of progressive accounting

· Strong hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting

· Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with Oracle Fusion

· Experience with LeaseQuery

· Experience with multi-entity or multi-location environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

· Must have advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)

· Must think critically and possess strong analytical skills

· Must have strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

· Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.

· Strong teamwork and technical skills are required

· Ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid environment
