Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive School Nurse to ensure the health and well-being of students and staff within our educational community. This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, managing health emergencies, and promoting health education in a dynamic school environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in patient assessment, medical documentation, and emergency response, with experience across various healthcare settings.

Duties

• Conduct thorough student health assessments, including vital signs and physiology evaluation, to determine health status and needs.
• Administer medications, injections, and IV insertions following strict safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
• Respond swiftly to medical emergencies with expertise in emergency medicine, trauma care, and urgent care procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
• Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as infectious disease prevention, anatomy knowledge, and basic life support techniques.
• Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
• Support post-acute care transitions and coordinate with external healthcare providers when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid RN or LPN license with current state licensure.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and IV insertion techniques required; additional certifications such as infection control or trauma care are advantageous.
