Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures. Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital offers patients a safe and comfortable environment to receive surgical care.

To act as patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the health care team and supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the facility. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the needs of individual patients including but not limited to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree from accredited nursing program.
• Licensure as registered nurse.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as a staff nurse.
• ACLS/BLS for PRE-OP/PACU areas
• BLS for all other clinical areas

1. Formulates a goal directed plan of care, which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
2. Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled, consistent manner in reaching the desired patient outcomes through nursing processes.
3. Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available center resources of time, personnel, equipment and supplies.
4. Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
5. Demonstrates applied knowledge base in areas of medical/ surgical patient care, pain assessment and actions of pharmaceuticals and anesthetic agents, laboratory values, safety and legal issues and all emergency equipment.
6. Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision making.
7. Performs documentation duties on the floor and in the patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise.
8. Works as part of a team in delivering patient care.
9. Attend in-services annually and participates in staff meetings
10. Remains flexible, adaptive and able to accept and implement new ideas and approaches.
11. Treats all patients equally adopting the centers Patient Rights policy.
12. Reviews and carries out physician orders in an appropriate professional manner.
