9am-5:30pm Yard Jockey/Backup Driver

Starting Pay: $25.00/hour

Drivers at Famous Supply primarily make deliveries from Famous Distribution Centers to Famous Branches and/or customer shops and job sites. Each morning, the driver’s route for the day is uploaded onto a company-provided Smartphone that provides turn by turn navigation and delivery details.

Driver must have verifiable Class A driving experience, an acceptable driving record, and understanding of DOT rules and regulations. Drivers will operate lift trucks, hand trucks and other equipment while loading and unloading trucks. Driver associates assist in the warehouse when needed.

Note: Famous Supply Drivers will handle large products such as water heaters, furnaces and showers.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Yard Jockey, while being a backup driver when needed
• Help load truck
• Use Smartphone to navigate to stops on-time
• “Drop-and-hook” full-trailer for empty trailer or unload skids at branch facility
• Provide backup support for customer deliveries
  • Unload materials for customer
  • Verify delivery for accuracy
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service
• Pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections

Required Experience and Skills

• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Valid CDL-A License
• Forklift experience
• Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
• Warehouse Experience
• RF Scanner Experience
• Customer service experience
