Inventory Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity in State College, PA. This role is ideal for someone with stockroom, inventory, warehouse, or materials handling experience who enjoys accurate work, organized processes, and supporting on-time customer fulfillment.

The Inventory Technician will work in a stockroom office environment, picking and staging parts, receiving finished goods, verifying inventory details, and helping ensure materials are available when needed. This position offers a steady Monday through Friday schedule, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to build a long-term career in inventory planning and materials management.

Key Responsibilities

- Pick and stage parts and materials accurately using work orders, pick lists, established procedures, and FIFO inventory practices.
- Support on-time customer shipments by completing picking, packing, and order fulfillment activities by scheduled ship dates.
- Receive finished goods into inventory and safely move, store, and handle materials to prevent damage.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation while packaging materials securely for shipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, discrepancies, quality concerns, or other issues that may impact operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company procedures and safety guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $18 to $20 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Location: State College, PA.
- Work Environment: Stockroom office environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Pick, stage, verify, and package parts and materials according to work orders and inventory procedures.
- Receive finished goods into inventory and move materials between warehouse and designated areas.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies, and communicate issues promptly.
- Support daily stockroom operations, customer order fulfillment, and departmental efficiency.

- High school diploma required.
- 1 to 2 years of stockroom experience with inventory transactions preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling part numbers, quantities, and documentation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform frequent reaching, bending, and material handling activities.
- Ability to lift up to 1 lb.
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow supervisor direction and established procedures.
- Forklift experience is not required, as forklifts will not be used in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a stockroom, inventory control, warehouse, materials, or order fulfillment environment.
- Familiarity with FIFO inventory practices.
- Experience working with work orders, pick lists, inventory documentation, or inventory transactions.
