The Pittsburgh Food Policy Council is hiring a Coalition Manager to help move food justice work forward in our region. This role is for someone who has experience working with people, building trust, and helping groups turn ideas into action. You’ll support coalitions and working groups focused on improving access to healthy, locally grown food and shaping policies that make the food system more fair and resilient. If you are an experienced coalition builder who cares about equity, enjoys bringing diverse partners together, and wants your work to have a real impact in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Overview
The Coalition Organizer advances PFPC's policy priorities by organizing, convening, and supporting coalitions focused on specific food policy and systems change outcomes

Duties

  • Recruit, organize, and support partners to advance coalition and committee goals
  • Manages budget and reporting within scope of work
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Convene and facilitate coalition and working group meetings
  • Support coalition co-chairs and shared leadership structures
  • Lead organizing and advocacy strategies for assigned coalitions
  • Coordinate testimony, actions, and advocacy activities
  • Maintain coalition documentation, timelines, and shared decision records
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to advance PFPC work and mission

Qualifications

  • Experience in community organizing, coalition building, or advocacy
  • Good computer skills in Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite
  • Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
  • Commitment to equity and community-led change
  • Ability to travel to different locations, meetings and conferences
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
