GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Oversees the daily functions of the Respiratory Care Department in the provision of respiratory care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the daily operations within the department e.g., quality assurance, performance improvement, productivity monitoring, staffing assignments. (40%)
- Performs or makes recommendations relative to hiring, evaluation, coaching, promoting, disciplining and discharging employees by following established HR policies, scheduling. (30%)
- Prepare, review and revise department standards of operation and care per regulatory requirements. (5%)
- Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (5%)
- Ensures compliance with and prepares the department for regulatory agencies. (20%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
- Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- 3 years in a clinical setting.
- CPR – American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree.
- Previous supervisory experience.
