CAD Technician / BIM Designer (MEP)

A growing MEP consulting engineering firm in the Lancaster, PA area is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician / BIM Designer to support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and building systems projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and industrial projects while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and building systems designs using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Create and maintain detailed BIM models and construction documents.
• Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary designs to ensure constructability and clash-free project delivery.
• Conduct field surveys and site visits to verify existing conditions.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings throughout the construction phase.
• Assist with project documentation, specifications, and construction administration activities.
• Support the development and implementation of CAD/BIM standards and design templates.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting MEP engineering projects.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.
• Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines.
• Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems design.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and engineering calculations preferred.
