SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Behavioral Health Referral Specialist receives and reviews all referrals for inpatient behavioral health treatment and facilitates access to the appropriate unit based on each patient's unique needs. Primary responsibilities include verifying patient demographics, thoroughly reviewing medical records, and managing inpatient bed availability. Effective communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are key to success in this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High School Diploma or equivalent (which is a GED, etc.)

• Two (2) years of experience in behavioral health setting

• AHA BLS Prior to end of orientation

• CPI Training prior to end of orientation

• Act 31 Training Certificate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred
