How you make a differenceAs a Medical Director, you will ensure adherence to security regulations, document medical services accurately, and coordinate coverage during absences, demonstrating your commitment to high-quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including patient examinations, infirmary visits, and documentation in EMR or approved forms.
- Respond to emergencies, supervise healthcare staff, and consult with specialists to deliver high-quality care.
- Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through quality initiatives.
- Review and approve treatment protocols, policies, and disaster plans.
- Participate in clinical oversight and quality improvement committees to enhance patient safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical school graduate.
Experience:
- Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current licensure within the State of employment.
- Current DEA registration.
- CPR certification.
- Maintains privileges and CME requirements for medical practice in the state.
