ONExia a custom machine builder is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. This is a unique role machining mostly metal and sometimes plastic on a vertical CNC Machining Center, as well as a 2 Axis manual lathe and 3 Axis manual mill.

This role closely aligns to a custom job shop except you are making parts to be used to build internal custom machines for customers. This role requires 4 yrs. of CNC machining experience.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate vertical CNC machine center, manual lathe, manual mill and other machine tools to manufacture mostly metal and occasional plastic parts.
• Interpret part prints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Load raw materials (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, Delrin, etc.) and monitor machining processes.
• Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Edit G-code programs to optimize production runs and part accuracy.

CNC Machinist Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating the following machines: 3 Axis vertical CNC Machine Center, 2 Axis Manual Lathe, 3 Axis Manual Mill w/ DRO (+ Conversational).
• Previous experience operating various Saws, grinders, sanders, etc.
• 4+ years of experience operating CNC machines in a fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using measuring tools.
• Familiarity with material properties and selection.
• Familiarity with G-code and CAM software (ability to tweak).
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
• Vocational or technical training in machining preferred.
