Software Engineer

Job Details:

Full time hybrid opening in Philly for a Software Engineer . You MUST be a Citizen or GC holder. And you must be local to the Philadelphia area. Role requires 3 days on site.

Seeking a Software Engineer to join our engineering team and take full ownership of critical applications and data systems. This role sits at the intersection of backend development, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering—you’ll build, deploy, and operate scalable, cloud-native solutions.

You won’t just write code—you’ll own systems end-to-end, from architecture to production performance.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services using AWS Lambda and ECS, with Copilot for deployment.
• Build data pipelines and analytics solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, and Unity Catalog.
• Design efficient storage solutions across S3 (data lakes), DynamoDB (NoSQL), and RDS/MongoDB Atlas.
• Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform across multiple environments (dev → prod).

Own & Operate

• Take full lifecycle ownership: design, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues; perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Build observability using CloudWatch and Elastic (or similar tools), including dashboards and alerting.
• Define SLAs, runbooks, and operational standards for your systems.

Collaborate & Improve

• Partner with product, data, and platform teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Drive best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
• Share knowledge through documentation, pairing, and team discussions.

Core Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM).
• Experience building data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, or Delta Lake.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with modern databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB Atlas).
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and messaging (Kafka, queues, MQTT).
