School Bus Safety Manager
Job Summary:
The School Bus Safety Manager is committed to effectively performing office and safety tasks that ensure operations run safely and smoothly. The School Bus Safety Manager oversees CDL driver certification and recertification training programs. Conducts special training classes; provides guidance, direction, and information pertaining to safety of drivers; identifies safety concerns and provides suggestions.Duties / Responsibilities:
As the school bus safety manager, you will provide safety training and support to employees and personnel to ensure compliance with School Bus Certification at each location. Oversight of storage tanks, OSHA regulations, CDL testing and DOL regulations; You are the main contact for insurance and are to track all accidents and ensure reports are completed correctly. Oversight of the safety committee and accident review board; complying that meetings are scheduled in adherence to by-laws and attended by yourself and team members. You will identify safety training needs and objectives and provide input for safety consideration. Oversight of driver evaluations, their accuracy and completion of testing schedules and training programs. Ensuring that school bus evacuations are scheduled and performed at each district twice yearly and receive written documentation that evacuations were completed. It is required that the safety manager check bus stop requests or changes and follow up with recommendation to operations managers. Conduct classes for drivers and monitors of special ed routes. Drive routes as needed to ensure drivers are following routes correctly and in compliance as well as physical observation of drivers to ensure proper safety procedures are being followed.
Required Skills/Abilities:CDL License required with P & S endorsements.
Knowledge of CDL regulations, training, communication of office procedures.

Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years related experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods driving the school bus or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Travel 30%
