Job Details Title: Adjunct Instructor - Biology (BIO-140) Announce date: 10/22/2025 Apply by date: Until Filled Application status: Accepting Applications Position type: Part-time Salary: $950 per credit hour Job Title: Adjunct Instructor - Biology Position Type Adjunct Modality On-campus Pay Rate $950.00 per credit (Instructors are paid one extra credit for lab courses) Reports To Dean, STEM Division Essentials Of Biology (BIO 140)# Credits: 4 (instructors are paid for 5 credits for lab courses) Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, 12:00-1:20 PM (on-campus) Lab: Wednesday, 1:30-4:20 PM (on-campus) Semester Period: SPRING: Jan 21, 2026, to May 6, 2026 Course Description Essentials of Biology (BIO 140) is an introductory biology course that prepares students for Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and other courses in the Health Professions. Topics will include the microscopic and macroscopic levels of the body, the structures and functions of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, viruses, cellular division, metabolism, regulation of bodily activities, homeostasis, and technologies used in health-related conditions. Laboratory experiments will emphasize microscopy, histology, data collection, interpretation, presentation, and the development of other laboratory skills. Required Education and/or Experience:- Master's Degree or higher in Biology or a related discipline
- Minimum of one-year of teaching experience
- Previous teaching experience in a college or university
- PA residency required
- Provide primary instruction and lab skills training, using the approved course curriculum and lab equipment.
- Monitor student progress, provide individualized student feedback, remedial support, and referrals as appropriate.
- Maintain all student records by entering student grades and withdrawals in a timely manner, and upon completion of the course, provide students with the final course grade and evaluation.
- Maintain a safe environment for students in the lab and demonstrate compliance with procedures and protocols for lab cleanliness and standards.
- Adhere to procedures and policies and maintain good communications and working relationships with faculty, staff, and lab assistants.
- Participate in teacher meetings and professional development activities as required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
