Pipefitter

Pipefitter Position - $29.50+/hr and $140 Per Diem for travelers

Located in Newport News, VA

We are seeking an experienced Shipyard Pipefitter with five or more years of experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting ship piping drawings and fitting various types of piping, including carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret ship piping drawings.
• Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
• End prep piping by hand or with a Portsmouth Machine.
• Install pipe hangers.
• Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
• Prep and fit-up backing rings.
• Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder.
• Hand prep V bevels.
• Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings.
• Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender.
• Fit welded sockets.
• Fit brazed joints with/without inserts

This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

The pay range for this position is $29.50 - $29.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Philadelphia,PA.
