Electrical Engineer

This individual will be a member of a global Electrical Engineering team located in Allentown, PA. The ideal candidate will support product development and project execution activities for Company owned (SOG) and Customer owned (SOE) projects throughout the globe. Plant types include Cryogenic and Pressure Swing Adsorption N2 Generators, Vacuum Swing Adsorption O2 generators, and Steam Methane Reformer H2 Generators.
Responsibilities:
Execute projects to install SPS productized plants across the globe
Participate in development of new and maintenance of existing productized industrial gas plants
Perform electrical system studies including short circuit, load flow, transient motor start, protection relay coordination, and arc flash, and creating appropriate protective device settings.
Develop electrical single line diagrams and overall plant electrical distribution systems.
Program protective relays with settings developed in systems analysis
Perform coordination with customer and/or utility to develop required power for operating plants.
Specify and purchase key electrical equipment such as medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, motors, transformers, RVAT’s, RVSSs, and VFD’s.
Responsibilities include writing purchase specifications, evaluating quotations, performing technical bid evaluations, vendor document review, and factory acceptance testing.
Provide Remote start-up and commissioning support for electrical distribution equipment and motors.
Work collaboratively with other disciplines towards the successful completion of projects and product development
Evaluate vendor package equipment such as Main air compressor packages for adherence to AP standards and regional codes.
Qualifications:
BS Electrical Engineering Degree is a minimum
0-3 years of electrical engineering experience
Experience in design and operation of industrial plants is required.
Experience with SKM Power Tools for Windows engineering software
Experience in other software modeling packages such as ETAP will be considered
Working knowledge of SEL protective relays
Experience specifying and working on transformers, MV and LV Motors, Motor control centers, and Variable frequency drives
Ability to travel 5-10%, primarily in North America
Working understanding of Electrically classified Hazardous areas including the installation and protection methods related to them.
Computer literate and experienced in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and other standard business applications
Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work with the appropriate level of supervision and accept a high degree of personal responsibility for results.
