About the Role

ECBM is looking for a Claims Associate to join our team! This person will report to the Vice President of Claims Services. This person will contribute to the profit and growth of ECBM by handling routine claims effectively and efficiently so that claims are handled properly, with a service that makes clients and companies want to continue business with ECBM.

Responsibilities

  1. Handle overall claim resolution: First Party Property Damage/Physical Damage
    1. Through working with ECBM personnel and insurance companies to assist in resolving claims to the satisfaction of clients and the insurance companies.
    2. By developing overall understanding and knowledge of coverages to assist in completion of claims.
    3. Typically, $10,000, or less in claim value
  2. Process incoming mail/paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion.
    1. Process paperwork in a reasonable amount of time (in and out 1-2 days) and accurately.
    2. Keep files up-to-date and organized.
    3. Complete follow-up system on timely basis and achieves results.
  3. Become actively involved in client contact, including taking reports, obtaining updates, and troubleshooting.
    1. Use courteous phone contact with clients including empathizing and maintaining good rapport.
    2. Handle more critical situations in absence of supervisor.
    3. Understand and delve into covered claims and advising clients.
    4. Assist in preparations and presentations of claim reviews called for in service standards
  1. Maintain good relationships with company claim representatives.
    1. Provide correct information including limits, endorsements, etc.
    2. Obtain status on claims with company, including working out problems that arise.
    3. Maintain good rapport, while remembering to work for the client's interests.
  2. Assist Claims Account Executive and Claims Consultant with claim reviews and other projects.
  3. Process all first notice of claim for Team.
  4. Follow-up on reported claims for adjuster assignment and claim number. Enter information into AMS.
  5. Maintain AMS diary/suspense system.
  6. Special Projects as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, but high school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented as well as ability to process high volume of transactions.
  • Should have 2-3 years of insurance experience.
  • Skills Preferred: Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
