Responsibilities Noblis is looking for a Machinery Controls Engineer who's excited to take on challenging, hands-on work in both lab and shipboard environments. If you have a passion for troubleshooting complex technical problems and supporting critical Navy systems, this role will put your skills to work where it matters most. What You'll Do- Work with auxiliary machinery control systems, including PLCs, to support testing and troubleshooting.
- Build and develop land-based test stands that replicate shipboard installations.
- Write, review, and execute test plans and procedures.
- Participate in shipboard inspections and system grooms.
- Review and update technical documentation (including engineering plans).
- Provide engineering support across design, installation, repair, modification, and operations.
- Draft engineering change proposals with drawings, cost estimates, and maintenance/installation steps.
- Oversee specialized testing, including shock, vibration, and EMI.
- Hybrid role with local flexibility-be part of our Philadelphia-based team while supporting shipyard operations.
- Overtime pay eligibility for business travel.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Background in Navy shipboard systems, commercial power plants, water treatment facilities, or similar fields is highly valued.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain (or hold) a DoD Secret clearance.
- Fairmount Automation / Rockwell Controls experience is desired.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation
- Remote/hybrid status is subject to change based on Noblis and/or government requirements
