Litigation Paralegal – Commercial Litigation
Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 plus benefits
Position Overview
A Litigation Paralegal is sought to support attorneys in a sophisticated commercial litigation practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented paralegal who enjoys complex legal matters, hands-on trial preparation, and working closely with attorneys in a collaborative, in-office environment.
Core Responsibilities
Responsibilities include preparing matters for trial, hearings, depositions, and mediations; drafting and formatting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence; managing document production, exhibits, and evidence files; coordinating filings in state and federal courts, including e-filing; maintaining case calendars and tracking deadlines; conducting legal and factual research; organizing and summarizing records, transcripts, and discovery materials; and assisting attorneys during trial and pre-trial proceedings.
Practice Focus
The paralegal will support matters involving complex commercial and benefits-related litigation, including withdrawal liability and controlled group disputes, successor and alter-ego liability issues, construction industry exemptions, delinquent employer contribution recovery, ERISA-related litigation, bankruptcy interplay, and enforcement and collection actions.
Qualifications
Candidates should have 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience (commercial litigation preferred), trial preparation experience, strong knowledge of litigation procedures, experience with document management and e-filing systems, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters while working directly with attorneys.
