Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is seeking great Concrete Finishers for our Natural Gas business in the Rochester, Pennsylvaniaoffice. This skilled labor position supports our gas utility construction crews with hard surface restoration behind those crews.

Concrete Finisher/Laborer Teammates will be responsible for installing, leveling and finishing concrete surfaces of poured concrete, such as sidewalks, aprons, handicap ramps, roads, and/or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools and will possess the ability to do finishing work at a high level of perfection, and an even higher focus on safety. Starting pay range for this position is $18 - $30/hour and will be commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them
• Able to survey grid line and elevations
• Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed and secure
• Place concrete material using a concrete rake, flat end shovel and/or hand float
• Ability to form and finish concrete to grade
• Handle physically demanding construction duties
• Other duties as assigned
• Ensure regulatory needs and safety measures are maintained
• Managing the expectations of the Customer at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach
• Must be able to lift, carry, and place heavy objects
• Valid driver's license required with clean driving record for the last 3 years
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn operating with construction power tools
• Valid CDL - Class A or B driver's license a plus, but not required
• American Concrete Institute Flatwork Certification a plus, but not required
• 18 years old with High School diploma or GED equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Preparation, facilitation of concrete placement, and finishing
• Needs pouring and finishing knowledge with proficiency in trowel, broom, and hand finish
• Needs to have understanding of daily concrete operations with ability to work independently
• Ability to determine types of tools and equipment needed on jobs
• Ability to use logic and create alternative solutions and approaches to problem solving

Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance and the concrete industry.
