- Help people create special & memorable events by connecting clients with talented, reputable vendors
- Respond to all emails regarding planned events up to two years away
- Build relationships for future repeat events and referrals
- Track & follow up with sales leads and convert inquiries into bookings
- Listen to clients to understand their needs and preferences for their event
- Create tailored catering proposals that meet the customer's budget
- Coordinate event details by speaking to the venue to ensure smooth execution at the event
- Address any customer complaints or issues before and after the event
- Reach out after the event to gather feedback, cement a positive impression, and gain a repeat customer
- Work from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday, with possible Saturdays
Dutch Country Catering, a family-owned and operated catering service, is growing and is looking for a Catering Sales Representative to be the main contact person for catering requests by phone and email. For over 12 years, we have supplied traditional Amish meals for our customers' special events. If you have customer service or sales experience in catering or event planning, consider joining our team.
Our Ideal Catering Sales Representative:
- Experienced: Previous sales and customer service experience in the event planning or catering industry. Understands building a sales pipeline.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn & use Total Party Planner software
- Relational: Someone warm & approachable; effectively communicates on the phone and through email; builds rapport with our customers and promotes a positive working relationship with the vendors and event managers.
- Customer-focused: Ready to serve our customers reasonably, graciously, and with friendliness. An active listener who addresses customer concerns in a way that builds loyalty.
- Team Player: Interacts well with teammates & customers, cares about the quality of work, and demonstrates humility & a willingness to learn.
- Strong Attention to Detail: A task-oriented, organized person with high standards to ensure that client preferences are met, contracts are accurate, and event logistics run smoothly.
- Creative: Clients are often open to being sold ideas that will improve their event; creativity in menu options, décor, or event format is welcome and encouraged.
