Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Newtown Square, PA location to be responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features in a development team.

Expectations and Tasks:

Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementation, testing, and integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Extends, modifies or adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-) systems. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Serve as 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Team's progress.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve three (3) years in the following:

• Software design principles to infrastructure using higher-level languages to integrate with hyper scalers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform;

• Machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict infrastructure load using Kubernetes primitives;

• Collaborate with product owners to prioritize requirements and deliver small chunks of functionally complete software in an iterative sprint cycle;

• DevOps oriented approach, create and maintain delivery pipelines that support continuous integration and deployment into production and monitor, assess, and tweak the health of those services;

• Implementing automated tests at all applicable levels (unit, integration, and end to end) using a range of technologies;

• Reverse Engineering, Algorithm design, and Distributed systems;

• Linux and Windows Operations, modern programming language, databases, and modern software delivery practices; and

• Cloud-Native Infrastructure, Docker on Linux & Windows, Terraform, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, and scalable and secure design patterns for the Cloud.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $146,078 - $149,490. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $146,078 - $166,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
