R&D Laboratory Chemist
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Laboratory Chemist / Lead formulator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing products that meet specific performance criteria. Additionally, will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and quality control, to ensure that the formulations can be scaled up effectively while maintaining quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development projects to innovate and improve products.
- Lead the implementation of good laboratory practices to ensure compliance and safety.
- Analyze experimental results and propose actionable improvements.
- Provide technical support to the R&D, Quality Control (QC), and Sales departments.
- Conduct testing on raw materials and finished products
- Assist in the development and formulation of Thermoplastic coatings and Specialty Materials.
- Collect, record, and analyze data to support product development and quality assurance
- Work closely with R&D Technicians, Quality Assurance and production teams
- Maintain a clean and safe lab environment
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting 3–5 years of laboratory experience is ideal, preferably in R&D.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience in coatings, adhesives or polymer manufacturing is an asset.
- Good to Excellent Color perception and Olfactory sensory. For both accuracy and adjustments.
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to perform testing and laboratory tasks, including lifting and handling materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures accurately.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Autonomy and the ability to work independently.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
